Absolutely dreadful seller to deal with. I had contacted the seller before purchasing the listing in order to confirm that a payment plan of 3 weeks would be acceptable, and this was agreed upon. I purchased the listing for 247$ USD, and the seller told me that the cost of shipping would come to another 30$ USD. I made a down-payment on the set (which was included within the 277$) of 25%, which came to 69.25$, but the first red flag was that the seller asked for the payment to be sent as "friends and family" so she could avoid the PayPal fees. As this violates PayPal's TOS, and would leave me with no buyer protection, I told her I would not be comfortable with this, and the seller agreed and said I could send the payment under "goods and services".
Shortly after this, the seller offered up the suggestion that my next payments be made in increments of 75$ per week. I was about to agree with this until I did the math and realized that she was charging me nearly 20$ USD extra, as the 69.25$ + 3 payments of 75$ would have come to nearly 295$. I asked the seller why this was, and she told me that she didn't want to lose money because of the PayPal fees (which still would have come to only 1-3 dollars per transaction, nowhere near the extra money she was trying to charge me), but I explained that those fees are not the responsibility of myself as the buyer. In her messages she not once mentioned this extra money being required, and I am absolutely certain she wouldn't have admitted to her intentions if I had not pointed it out myself. I most certainly would have never purchased the listing if I had known beforehand that the seller was intending on charging me this extra money. Do keep in mind that none of this was aforementioned in her TOS, and it was never brought up by the seller in our messages until after I had made my down payment.
She then went on to make another excuse, that because she had to pay those fees (which again, would only be a couple dollars), that she would likely not have the money to cover shipping on my package, even exclaiming that "shipping would probably be more than 30$ because the dress is so heavy". I wouldn't have had an issue with paying more for shipping in the first place if she had been honest with me (and provided proof of the shipping quote being higher), but for her to try to make me pay more by trying to sneak it under my nose was extremely shady and unprofessional. After all of this, I felt extremely uncomfortable with the seller, so I requested a refund, she initially started making more excuses, that "she's willing to work with me and lower the price", and that my deposit is "non-refundable", despite the fact that this situation was her own fault, later she went on to ignore my messages despite reading them, so I opened a PayPal claim to receive my deposit back. As of this morning PayPal has sided with me on the issue, and my refund is currently being processed. It's absolutely ridiculous that I had to receive my refund by way of legal force instead of the seller simply owning up to her fault in this situation.
I absolutely will never deal with this seller again, and I would urge others to avoid her as well.
